To Our Friends in Dallas – KITTENS!
May 23rd
Friends:
A year ago we were adopted by a young stray cat. Miette Petite (aka Little Crumb). She was scared of people, other cats, and anything that sent a slight breeze her way. Through a lot of patience and love, we befriended Miette.
Some young women to go a little crazy when they hang out exclusively with gay men. Soon, Miette was flipping her hair on the dance floor, knocking over drinks with her big purse, and complaining that “she couldn’t find a man like us.” She longed to be the fifth cast member of Sex In The City. She was drinking cosmos by the gallon.
She was a hot mess. Think Brittney before she cut off all of her hair.
This happened before we had a chance to take her to the clinic and have “the talk” about the dangers of the world.
All it took was one night, with some guy named Tom, and Miette was pregnant.
Six kittens were born on April 8th. Miette has been great, and the kids are adorable. They have become very social and friendly. We have grown to love them a lot. However, it is time for us to start looking for new homes for them.
All of the no-kill shelters in Dallas are overly full, and they are not taking any new babies. We are placing ads on PetFinder.com and Craigslist.com, but we are understandably concerned.
Both of those sites have had problems with degenerates looking for kittens because they want to train hunting dogs, or are looking for something to abuse and take their anger out on.
So, we are putting out a call to our friends who might be considering a pet. We would love to see these kids go to good homes with people we trust. Alan will be taking two of them when her moves into his new place in June. Disney and Phillip will most likely be keeping one. That leaves three kids looking for love.
Please take some time to visit www.miettepetite.com. There are videos, pictures, and information about the kids.

This is Jana (of Zan and Jana… the Wonder Twins). She is one month old today.
I’m Moving!
Apr 24th
After nearly a year in Dallas, I am once again preparing to move. I am staying in the city, but moving to a newly built apartment complex in what folks here consider the “gayborhood.” Friends and family who look at the website agree when I say that it is appears an Atlantis gay cruise threw up on the Dallas prairie.
I am nervous and excited all at the same time. This move represents a couple of firsts in my nearly 40 years. It will be my first “large complex” living situation (I don’t count the apartment in Chicago… that was a cave and in four years I can’t tell you the name of a single neighbor). It will be my first apartment to myself with a dishwasher, washer, and dryer. There is also a really nice gym, pool, and the staff is really nice.
In addition to the new construction, new appliances, and new neighborhood, and I will find myself with two very new room mates. I decided to take two of the kittens. I do not take that decision lightly, and I know a couple of family members (mom) are a little surprised.
At first it was going to be just one cat. After a lot of research and a lot of talking to people who own cats, I understand it is actually easier to own two pets because they will keep each other company (although more expensive). I have not decided which of the six kittens I will be taking. It appears we have three sets of twins, and I hate to break up a set. I will also need to come up with names, but need to come up with something that doesn’t make me gag a little when I say it. I am not a big fan of your typical cute and cuddley pet names like Socks, Princess, Fluffy, etc.
I am taking suggestions for names. It will probably be a boy and girl combination. I can start moving in on May 21.
Friendly Little Cat. Meow!

For your kitten pleasure… 13 minutes of mom and the kids.
(Hopefully the third time is the charm, and the video will embed correctly)
How evolution works

Now that we have kittens, I am looking all over the internet on how to train cats (I don’t think it can be done).
If cats CAN be trained, I want to train all six kittens to do this… and then maybe a kick line.
In other news, we still have not figured out the names (I am still partial to one of them being called Faux Paws). Miette also has her own domain now. www.miettepetite.com
