WOW. In addition al to everything I was doing for
work, I was able to spend some time really enjoying
New York. It really hellped that I had a friend with
me, and was able to find my way to some great events
and parties. Although I was unable to stay for Pride
itself, I was able to enjoy some of the pre-pride
festivities (most of it on the company dime... woo
hoo!).
Some observations:
Just because you paid for 1st Class, doesn’t mean you have any.
If you chose to fly into New York looking like both a crack whore and a roid bunny, you will pull off neither look well. I happened to see someone I know from the “old days.” She obviously missed the memo that Roided Tina Freak is no longer a popular look in New York.
Combats boots need to come back into style. Not because they are stylish, but because they will protect your feet from the afformentioned Roided Tina Freak in the dance club.
I have totally found a new favoirite hotel. Possibly two. The DREAM hotel, while fun the first couple of times... no more.
If it is under $100, then the upgrade to first class if worth it on a two hour flight if you are 6’1”. I still feel like it should be reimburasable by my company. Physical abuse by the person in front of me playing with their recliner is more painful than a $100 upgrade.
